United Autosports take LMP2 Le Mans victory using Halo By Orthene

0.06 seconds per lap – it makes all the difference in a 24-hour endurance race

On Sunday 16th June, United Autosports took a spectacular victory at the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans, pushing hard until the very end to win the LMP2 class by just 18.6 seconds after an incredibly intense 297 laps.

Playing a crucial part in maintaining performance until the chequered flag was the fact that the United Autosports team chose Halo P1 specialist brake fluid. Over 297 laps, their winning margin was the equivalent of just 0.06 seconds per lap. Every ounce of performance the team were able to find made the difference in achieving victory, including Halo P1. And with 114 United Autosports staff members working around the clock in the run up to the race, simply replacing their brake fluid with Halo P1 was arguably the easiest performance advantage the team realised.

Heavy downpours and unpredictable weather kept the drivers on high alert throughout the race, but one thing they could rely upon was absolutely consistency in their brakes – both performance and pedal feel, thanks to Halo P1.

We have been looking for ways to improve brake pedal stiffness and consistency, testing various options in fluid and system components. Our testing showed that Halo P1 provided increased pedal stiffness and consistency over long runs, and the decision was made that we would use Halo P1 across all of our endurance racing activities. Our LMP2 team secured a class victory at Le Mans this year – Halo P1 gave our drivers a consistently stiff brake pedal feel throughout the race, and we are very happy to continue with Halo By Orthene and hopefully secure further victories this season.
